On our last day of our family vacation in Puerto Morales, Mexico, my husband and I got up early to watch the sunrise over the ocean. We sat in beach chairs facing east. I couldn't see the sun at first but the world lightened slowly. Then it seemed all of a sudden that rays of light pierced the clouds and every time I blinked, the edge of the sun rose in the sky until the clouds were on fire. A path of light streaked across the ocean. I couldn't keep my eyes on the sun because of the brightness.
I was filled with gratitude that the sun rises every day to give life to our world. But as I continued to blink and mark the progression of the sun, I remembered that the sun isn't coming up. The world is turning towards the sun. I too need to turn towards the Son, Jesus Christ and His light will give me life. #LIGHTtheWORLD |
